The Holiday Inn on Paradise Island was opened in November 1971 and was the second Holiday Inn in the Bahamas. The 535-room hotel, overlooking Pirates Cove, constructed at a cost of $8 million was the tallest building in The Bahamas.
“Magnificent best describes this new Holiday Inn on Paradise Island (Nassau) in the Bahamas…offering all the amenities of the good life in a picture book setting such as this one.
Approaching the Inn on Casuarina Drive, named after the Casuarina pine which lines it on both sides and down the middle, you’re shaded in a cool, tropical atmosphere.
The Inn itself is located on its own private cove, Pirates Cover, and rises majestically 17 stories above the crystal clear, sparkling blue water that washes the beautiful, white sand beach.
All 535 rooms offer an unsurpassed view of the island, the ocean and the beach. From your own private balcony, its yours to enjoy. Each room is beautifully decorated, fully carpeted, has individually controlled air-conditioning and heating, and lends to the home-away-from-home relaxed, carefree comfort designed to make your sun-filled days and fun-filled nights seem to last forever.
Stroll through the shops located in the Inn’s own shopping concourse. Here you’ll find purse-pleasing bargains in gifts and fashions from around the world.
Sun soak on the beach or pool deck of our huge, free-form, fresh water pool. They’re second to none.
If you are the active, sportsman type, there’s never a dull moment. Everything in the way of water and land sports…snorkelling, scuba diving, water skiing, tennis, golf…and much more are yours to enjoy.
At night, there’s the Inn’s own rooftop lounge and showbar, The Crow’s Nest, featuring live entertainment nightly, both International and local talent. And for those wishing a round with Lady Luck, the casino is but a short distance away.”
Facilities included The Crows Nest (Rooftop Lounge and Showbar), Pirate’s Cove (lobby level), The Sand Bar (lobby level), The Reef (pool bar), Neptune’s Table (lobby level), Beachcomber (restaurant/coffee lounge on lobby level), and a large meeting room seating 900 for banquets.
