The Victoria Falls Hotel at Victoria Falls was owned and managed by Rhodesia Railways. In 1965, large scale improvements were made to the hotel involving the remodelling of the front lawns and terraces, and improvements to the interior including the addition of air-conditioning.
In 1971, Rhodesia Railways leased the hotel to Southern Sun Hotel Corporation of Rhodesia (Pvt) Ltd.
