A new philatelic product, designed to be of interest to young collectors, will forge a link between two favourite collectible hobbies.
On 7 September 1987, Australia Post will release the first three sets of a five-set series of Stamp Collector Cards. Devised in the form of swap cards, these attractive items reproduce artwork from Australia’s Posts First Fleet series of stamps on one side, while on the other side the actual stamp is affixed and postmarked.
The first three sets cover the Departure of the First Fleet, The First Fleet at Teneriffe, and the First Fleet at Rio de Janeiro. Each set is priced at $2.00 and will be available from all Australia Post official post offices and mail order offices.
