It was necessary to make four new cylinders for the re-introduction on 1st October, 1971, of the 5c Golden Wattle coil. As previously, the stamp was printed by photogravure on Wiggins Teape coated unwatermarked paper including helecon. Colours are yellow, dark green, brown and grey. The dimensions and perforations of the 5c Golden Wattle are the same as the 2c and 7c coil.
A quantity of coils containing 500 stamps were manufactured for each of the three values so that supplies of the coil stamps would be available at post offices throughout Australia when the new postal charges were introduced. Normal content of the coils is 1,000 stamps.
