Maryborough Post Office is located at 69 Clarenden Street. It was built in 1876-77 as a combined court house and post office. The building was designed by architect JH Marsden of the Victorian Public Works Department and built by Peter Cunningham for a contract price of £8266 4s 3d. The post office is in the Italianate palazzo style and features two three arch colonnades and a clock tower. The clock was manufactured by Joseph Bros of Melbourne and the bell by IW Horwood of Castlemaine. In 1892 the post office took over whole building when a new court house was built next door.
