On 19th November, 1971, the RAAF School of Technical Training, Wagga Wagga, N.S.W., was honoured with an individual award of the Queen’s Colour in recognition of the long and loyal service rendered by the School. This was the first occasion when an individual RAAF unit has been awarded the Queen’s Colour, although the RAAF as a service recevied the award in 1952.
The crest of the RAAF School of Technical Training was featured in the design of the special postmarker provided at the Wagga Wagga RAAF Post Office on the day of presentation.
