A pictorial postmarker was provided in Melbourne from 6th to 16th April, 1974, during the Golden Jubilee Scottish Festival, which commemorated the 50th anniversary of thye Victorian Highland Pipe Band Association. The organisation was formed at Geelong on 12 April, 1924, and is the oldest of its type in Australia. The postmarker design incorporates the Lion Rampant of Scotland. The postmarker was on 4,252 articles, including 10 registered.
