Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial & Overseas)’s head office was located in the Barclay’s Bank Building on Manica Road, Salisbury.
In 1925, the Colonial Bank, National Bank of South Africa and the Anglo-Egyptian Bank were amalgamated and Barclays operated its overseas operations under the name Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas) – also known as Barclays D.C.O.
The Barclays Bank Building began construction in 1958 by Lewis Construction Co Ltd and was completed in 1961.
