From 19th January to 6yh March, 1977, a pictorial postmarker was used to cancel 5,883 articles, including 28 registered, at the temporary post office provided at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, during The Chinese Exhibition – an exhibition of archaeological relics on loan from the Chinese People’s Republic.
