Australia Philately: 1989 Sport Series II (New Value)

On 23 August 1989 Australia Post will issue a new deifinitive stamp to accommodate the postal rate rise occuring on 1 September. The new 41c stamp belongs to the second series of Sports stamps and features the subject of “Cycling”.

Further stamps in the second series of Sports stamps are due to be released early next year.

The “Cycling” stamp was designed by Sue Passmore, a former member of the Australia Post Design Studio, who now works for the Russell Bevers Design Studio in Melbourne.
