Part 2 of the superb new Gardens definitive stamp series will be issued by Australia Post on 13 September 1989. The $2 and $5 stamps (like the $10 stamp issued earlier this year) are produced using a combination of intaglio and photolithographic printing processes.
The scene depcited on the $2 stamp is of Nooroo in New South Wales. The subject of the $5 stamp is Mawarra, a Victorian Garden. These gardens are considered by experts to be excellent examples of landscape gardening principles.

An augmented stamp pack will accompany the release of Part 2 of the Gardens Series. The pack will contain the $10 Garden stamp, issued earlier in the year, in addition to both the $2 and $5 stamps. It includes additional pages with photographs and details of the gardens and of the printing process. The augmented pack is priced at $17.35.
