A 4c stamp marking the 150th Anniversary in Australia of the British and Foreign Bible Society in Australia will be issued on the 7th March, 1967. Designed by Mr. Lance Stirling, of Ringwood, Vic., the stamp shows a pair of hands outstretched to receive a bible, symbolizing the Society’s distribution of the Scriptures. The several colours of the Bible cover represent the many languages into which the Society has had the Bible translated.
The stamp was printed by the Note Printing Branch, Reserve Bank of Australia, Melbourne, by photogravure, on helecon paper in sheets of 100. Colours are red, yellow, blue and black.
