An 18c stamp commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia was issued by Australia Post on 15 May 1978 for approximately two weeks sale at post offices. The stamp is continuing on sale at Australia Post philatelic sales centres until 15 May 1979.
The stamp design shows a Baron Beechcraft coming in to land at a station airstrip.
