This Christmas, Australia Post will issue a set of three stamps. The issue date of the 25c stamp is 24 September 1979. Two other Christmas stamps will be issued on 1 November 1979 and complete details of these stamps will be given in the next issue of the Australian Stamp Bulletin (No.143).
The 25c stamp may be used for posting greeting cards (up to 50g) to all countries by surface mail. The stamp will be issued on 24 September 1979 to allow its use on Christmas cards and to meet closing times for surface mail to different countries.
The 25c Christmas 1979 stamp will be available from all post offices until the end of December 1979 and from philatelic sales centres for up to twelve months, provided stocks last.

A stamp pack, containing the three Christmas 1979 stamps will be issued in conjunction with the other two denominations on 1 November 1979.
First Day Cover No.133 (Official)
One first day cover, numbered 133 will be provided for the issue. Unserviced covers will be available for $A0.12 each from 17 September 1979. Serviced covers with the stamp affixed and postmarked on 24 September 1979 will be available for $A0.37 each from all first day of issue post offices, until 8 October 1979, provided stocks last.
