Due to the large scale use of the 18c concessional rate in Australia Post’s Bulk Local Rate Mail Service, it has become necessary to issue a stamp with this denomination. Therefore, contrary to previous advice that the series was complete, the “Australian Birds” definitive series has now been extended to include this extra value.
The new 18c definitive stamp, to be issued on 17 November 1980, festures the Spotted Catbird.
As this new stamp is a definitive issue, it will be on sale at all post offices for appoximately three years.
