Australia’s pastoral prosperity has its origins in the period 1810-1850 when the land was opened up by explorers and pioneers. The Australian colonies were not easy places to administer. Governors and Civil Servants had to deal with factions among the people as well as the difficulties of establishing new settlements. In each case a detail from a larger portrait has been shown.
