Australia’s pastoral prosperity has its origins in the period 1810-1850 when the land was opened up by explorers and pioneers. In these early times nearly everyone could be called a pioneer, from poor farmers clearing land to politicians trying to establish representative government. In each case a detail from a larger portrait has been shown.
