Australia Philately: Currie (7256)

A new Currie post office was opened on 7 September 1956. The building was constructed of prefabricated aluminim alloy, known as Bristol type, which was imported from England. The total cost for the purchase and erection of the building was £22,500.

Currie (King Island) became a first day of issue postmarker office on 18 October 1978.
