Hornsby Post Office opened on the corner of Coronation Street and Peats Ferry Road (now the Pacific Highway) in 1911.
The original building was demolished in May 1989 and a new one opened in 1990.

Hornsby became a first day of issue postmarker office on 11 February 1970.
