The distributors to the philatelic trade, Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corp, were unreliable in completeness and accuracy of their information about reprintings and distribution. However, printing orders for Bahamas stamps were handled by the Crown Agents, and some information was available through them.
There were five reprintings of this issue. While each reprinting covered only a few denominations, each value was reprinted at least once. There was serious flood damage in August 1968 at the printer’s plant, and all vignette plates for this issue as well as the frame plate for the 3c value were damaged. New plates (Plate 2) were made.

As i recall, one design in the series was changed when compared to the equivalent previous sterling series. Why?
The 5c was changed from the Oceanic to the Queen Elizabeth. I assume this was due to the QE being a newer vessel. 🙂
