Bahamas Philately: Abaco Islands – Pelican Cay

 

Pelican Cay is an uninhabited part of the Abaco Islands. In 1972, the Pelican Cays Land and Sea Park, a national park was established. The park has an area of 2,100 acres (8 km2).

The park’s marine environment contains an extensive coral reef and undersea cave habitat. Over 170 species of plants and animals have been documented within the park’s land and sea areas, including loggerhead and green sea turtles, bottlenose dolphins, and nesting bridled terns.
