In 1963, the Balmoral Club fell under the ownership of Hotels Corporate of America (HCA). By now, the Balmoral Club offered “coconut terraces” for indoor and outdoor dining with “swinging nightlife.” The resort also owned Balmoral Island – the only resort-owned island in the Bahamas – where it offered a bar and barbeque.
By 1965 HCA looked to expand the club’s Georgian cottage villas by adding a new wing to provide a total of 210 rooms. In 1966, construction began on a 145 room luxury hotel on the grounds of the Balmoral Club called Balmoral Manor House.
The new hotel opened on 1 February 1967 and overlooked sandy beaches, had a pool and terrace, and an Italian-style courtyard. In 1968, the hotel rebranded to the Balmoral Beach Hotel.
