In the late 1950s when more American and European money began flowing through Nassau, there was a market for fine pottery. In 1958, David Rawnsley decided to leave Chelsea in London and set up shop in Nassau. The studios were located at the top of Parliament Street, and the shop was located in the British Colonial Hotel (A Gill Hotel).
