Powell Point is located on the south-western tip of Eleuthera, Bahamas.
During the 1960s, Powell Point was the location of a microwave radio station as part the Atlantic Missile Range Mistran tracking system.
In 1970, work began on a $35million redevelopment of Powell Point which became known as Cape Eleuthera. The project was originally seen as a 20 year project originally and owned by a newly formed Bahamian Corporation, Avon Harbour Ltd. The development included residential lots, a hotel, a marina, beach club and golf course.
