The New Plymouth Inn was turned into a hotel in 1958 by Colyn Rees, an ex-RAF pilot, after a period of abandonment. It had 26 rooms (most with baths), a dining room and patio.
The New Plymouth Inn was built in 1825 by notorious “Wrecker” and Green Turtle Cay shipping pioneer, Captain Augustus Roberts. A part of the Inn’s original allure was the legend of the untimely demise of the sea Captain and the reported haunting of the property.
