By 1971, Pink Sands Lodge expanded to 33 Cottages and could accommodate up to 110 guests, three tennis courts, a pool and two restaurants. The name was changed to Pink Sands Hotel.
Pink Sands was the largest employer on Harbour Island and had a full season staff of 90 Harbour Islanders.
