The Dolphin Hotel, located on West Bay Street and Nassau Street, was opened in July 1957. The fully air-conditioned hotel contained 52 rooms (although by 1958 it was advertised as 67 rooms) which were all beach-facing. There was a cocktail bar and lounge with Calypso entertainment and nightly dining and dancing “under the stars.”
In 1965 the hotel underwent major renovations to improve its appearance including new carpeting throughout the hotel and new lighting.
