Walker’s Cay Club was located on Walker Cay, Abaco. The club, located on 100 acres of land, primarily provided accommodation for fishing sports.
In 1968 American businessman, Robert Abplanalp, bought the lease on the island and began to develop it as a sport fishing destination. In 1969, a 34-room air-conditioned hotel, including suites and villas was added. The hotel provided fresh and salt water swimming pools, gourmet dining, and cocktail and gaming lounges.
In the same year, two airstrips were added and the protected marina was later in winter of 1970 from 30 to 75-boats. Additionally, the club provided a sea plane landing.
