Soviet stamps were overprinted with the three-liner LAISVI TELŠIAI 41-VI-26 (= The Free Telšiai) by the Lithuanian Provisional Government. However, this issue as well as other June issues went contrary to German war intentions and was politically unacceptable, an order soon came down to destroy the stamps so overprinted.
