The image used on this stamp is taken from an illuminated manuscript (1525-1523). It is a miniature from the Hours of Albrecht of Brandenburg. Suffrage to St Anne. St Anne, the Virgin and Child in a garden. This, and many other miniatures, were already detached from the manuscript, when purchased by Frederick William Robert Stewart, IV Marquess of Londonderry c.1856.
