Malawi Philately: 1979 Wild Orchids Definitive – 20t Cyrtochis arcuata (variabilis)

Cyrtochis arcuata (variabilis) is species from most of Sub-Saharan Africa and found widespread in African forests.

The flowers are all white except for the ovaries which are green and the flowers turn orange as they get to the end of their flowering period. They have a sweet fragrance.
