Kitwe Stores Ltd was located in Nkana. It was originally a concession store owned by Shim Lakofski known as the Nkana Trading Company which was established in 1928-29.
Around 1933, Lakofski left Nkana and the store was sold to a man named Appleby who re-named it Kitwe Stores. The Nkana store became the first of a branch of stores.
