Paul Petersen, Philatelic Society of Lancaster County Newsletter Editor and American Philatelic Society Liaison, will discuss in this second lecture of a multi-part series the United States international Stamp Shows that occurred from 1956 to 1976.
In the early 20th century, the U.S. entered the philatelic competitions and starting winning awards. Paul will also discuss the evolution of the shows, the hobby, the locations, etc. He will also share the changes and growth of exhibiting: categories, topics, judging and the FIP. He touches on the contributions by the U.S. Post Office Department and the U.S. Postal Service over the years.
