Rhodesia Philately: 1974 Third Definitive Issue – $1 Papilio antheus

Large Striped Swordtail (Papilio antheus): Favouring more tropical regions, this swift butterfly is nevertheless found in some areas in Rhodesia. It is not often closely observed on account of its wild and fast flying habits. It gathers with other Swallowtails at sucking places where veld roads crossing streams make damp muddy patches at the edges.
