Southern Rhodesia Philately: J Clack & Co Ltd (Salisbury)

 

J Clack & Co Ltd were general mining machinery merchants located on Rezende Street and Speke Avenue, Salisbury. The business was established by Joseph William Page Clack in c.1914 and made their mark through the supply and erection of mining machinery for the entire plant of the Abercorn Gold Mining Co. Ltd. They also had a branch in Bulawayo.

By the mid 1930s, the business had expanded to Ndola, Northern Rhodesia.

20th Anniversary of SKF Industries

By window dispalys and others, this year SKF Industries’ 20th anniversary will be celebrated. One feature of the celebration will be a series of picture cards, grouped with printed matter from SKF companies all over the world. These cards will be exchanged between 160 SKF offices the world over. The period of window displays was 1 March – 1 May [1927]
