The Rhodesia Advertiser was located in Main Street, Umtali. The business were printers, stationers and booksellers. The business was owned by Charles Eickhoff who was a founder of the Umtali Municipality and Mayor of Umtali.
By the early 1930s, Eickhoff found the running the newspaper and its associated printing and bookselling business, as well as his parliamentary and public duties, too onerous. On 1 August 1934 he sold The Rhodesia Advertiser, the printing business, the buildings and the property in Main Street to The Rhodesian Printing and Publishing Company.
