Oudenodon is an extinct genus of dicynodont. It was common throughout southern Africa during the Late Permian. Several species of Oudenodon are known. Specimens of O. luangwensis have been found from Zambia.
Rubidgea is a genus of gorgonopsid from the upper Permian of South Africa and Tanzania. Rubidgea is part of the gorgonopsian subfamily Rubidgeinae, a derived group of large-bodied gorgonopsians restricted to the Late Permian (Lopingian).
The stamp appears to be based on an illustration by R.T. (Bob) Bakker created for an article by R. W. Crompton published in Optima magazine in 1968.
