Kingstons (Zambia) Ltd was located in Kingstons Building, President Avenue, Ndola. The business was the largest commercial outlet for bookshops in Zambia with branches in Mufulira, Chingola, Livingstone, Kitwe and Lusaka. In addition to the wholesale and retail merchandising of books, they also distributed magazines and newspapers from Southern Africa, the United States and Britain.
Kingstons (North) Ltd was a branch of the Rhodesian business, Kingstons – which was owned by the Central News Agency of South Africa. Around 1965, the name was changed to Kingstons (Zambia) Ltd.
On 1 March 1972, the business was sold to a consortium of Zambian citizens.
