An official mail run will be made on the opening of the Bridge and covers carried on the run will be cancelled with the pictorial postmarker and endorsed with a cachet.
Australia Post will issue a souvenir cover for the occasion. Postmarked souvenir covers will cost $A0.32 each. Souvenir covers carried on the mail run and endorsed with the cachet will also cost $A0.32 each.
Client’s own covers to be carried on the mail run and applications for the souvenir covers together with a remittance must reach the Philatelic Bureau, G. P. O. Box 9000, Melbourne, Vic. 3001, by 11 September 1978, due to the uncertainity of the opening date of the Bridge.
