Four new stamps, showing popular sports in Australia, will be issued by Australia Post on 22 August 1991. They replace four of the higher denominations in the Living Together definitive series.
Earlier Sports series concentrated on family-oriented and ‘fun’ sports. The third series is devoted to competitive sports. The designs feature three sports which number among the highest memberships in Australia; netball, squash and soccer. A fourth design depicts diving, in which Australia is beginning to enjoy international success.
