Bahamas Philately: Balmoral Beach

In 1974 the Halcyon Balmoral Hotel was sold to the Bahamian Government for $3.5million and relaunched as the Balmoral Beach (hotel, tennis & golf club).

The hotel provided 225 rooms for accommodation, bar services and two restaurants including la Chandelle. The hotel was advertised as ideal for “smaller executive-type meetings.”

Amenities included a garden side pool, access to the Ambassador Beach Golf Club, tennis courts and water-sports at its own private island – Bali Hai.

Between 1975-76, the hotel was rebranded as part of The Greats Resorts of Cable Beach.
