Bahamas Philately: International Hotel

The International Hotel (also referred to as Bahamia International Hotel) was located in Freeport, Grand Bahama and was opened in 1970. The hotel held 400 rooms for accommodation. It was owned and operated by Daniel K Ludwig and was part of the Bahamia development. The hotel was adjacent to El Casino and the International Bazaar.

By 1973, the International Hotel was taken over by Princess Properties International Ltd. Princess Properties undertook a $2.5 billion dollar renovation programme and the hotel was re-named as the Princess International Hotel before changing to Bahamas Princess Towers in 1974.
