Bahamas Philately: Parliament Square – Post Office

The ‘old’ Nassau Post Office was located off Rawson Square, in Public Square (Parliament Square) on Bay St. The centre building housed the post office on the ground floor.

In 1938, the Post Office begun to consider options to either expand or erect a new postal building. In 1950, Rawson Square was chosen to house the General Post Office as it was already a parcel post office.
