Bahamas Philately: Transcolor Corporation (81200 Series)

In 1967, the Hamilton Watch Company experienced over $900m in watch sales. The industry had expected that the post-war ‘babies’ would put demand on watches – originally expected to peak in the 1970s but which now peaked earlier.

In Spring 1968, the Hamilton Watch Company ran a sales promotional program where dealers and store sales personnel had the opportunity to win a number of prizes, including trips to the new Paradise Island Hotel. It was part of the merchandise plan to build upon the near-record outcomes of 1967, and to achieve $1 billion worth of sales for 1968.
