In 1974, Princess Properties re-named their three Grand Bahama hotels. The three hotels were; the King’s Inn and Golf Club, re-named the Bahamas Princess; Xanadu, re-named as Xanadu Princess; and the Princess International Hotel was renamed as Bahamas Princess Towers. The three hotels became collectively known as Princessland.
In the same year, the hotel was purchased by Howard Hughes’ Summa Corporation for USD$15 million from D K Ludwig and became the Xanadu Princess Yacht & Tennis Club.
