Kim, the Chair of the Falkland Islands Philatelic Study Group, tells the story of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition of 1955 – 1957 (FIDASE) overshadowed by the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition of the same time. A story of courageous pilots and air crew flying out of their base at Deception Island over two austral summers, and the mail which they generated.
