In this presentation, Sam Vascones takes us on a philatelic journey through Iraq’s tumultuous history, starting with the British Mandate of 1920.. He explores key historical events, including the 1958 revolution and its impact on stamp design and obliterations, culminating with the execution of Abd al-Karim Qasim. Sam’s exquisite collection showcases stamps from 1920-1966 and includes official, air post and tax stamps as well as souvenir sheets.
