Malawi Philately: 1964 Definitive Series – 3d Groundnuts

The 3d stamp was originally intended to be two colours but Malawi requested the addition of a third colour – green, for the leaves. Groundnuts were purchased by the designer studio to study the shell formation and devise the cutaway picture of a nut. The image is based on a brochure image.
