Stamp Chats: The Art of Cachet Making

Mr. Nirlay Kundu joins host Heidi Rhoades on American Philatelic Society‘s Stamp Chat to discuss and demonstrate his unique cachet making process.

Nirlay is a self taught artist who has successfully merged his love of philately and painting into a highly successful and sought after line of cachets. He began creating cachets after he moved to the United States from India in 1995. His first cachet was the Lewis and Clark issue of 2004. He produced two different cachets of this issue in the editions of twenty.  Kundu continues to hone his craft and remains a passionate stamp collector of 40 years; he has a worldwide collection and his favorite stamp is the iconic, Penny Black.
