StampCat Stamps: Bangladesh – Stamps on Stamps – A Cinderella Story

Join StampCat as she explores more of her postage stamp collection through stamps of Bangladesh!

After a viewer messaged her on Instagram asking if she had any stamps from Bangladesh, she realized she didn’t. So she bought a whole ton of them – mostly stamp-on-stamps to double as a father’s day gift.

From these stamps we can learn about the Language Movement (Language Martyr’s Day and the Shaheed Minar Memorial), The Liberation War (Operation Searchlight, the eye-opening news article by Anthony Mascarenhas, and the stamps that followed to raise money for the cause- designed by Biman Chand Mullick and printed in part by John Stonehouse) – and a nice look at her Bangladesh Liberated First Day Cover!

In the rest of the stamp-on-stamps we see Mail Runners and the dove-mail symbol of the AOPU.
